About Phil Wilson
Phil and his wife, Terri, visited and fell in love with Key West in 1998. Returning on vacation many times, they bought a vacation home in 2000, and moved here permanently the following year. He is active in the community, serves on local boards and mentors bright, but financially disadvantaged students through the Take Stock in Children Program.
Phil is a real estate and financial expert with thirty-seven years experience in the public and private sectors. He specializes in negotiations, acquisitions, asset redevelopment, marketing, disposition, restructuring and streamlining real estate and design and construction processes. He served as the Senior Vice President, Corporate Services for one of the world’s largest commercial and corporate real estate firms. As an executive with the United States Postal Service Real Estate and Buildings Department, he held seven senior-level positions in Washington, DC, Chicago and New England and was responsible for 35,000 properties nationwide. After a highly successful and rewarding career he took early retirement in 1999.
Phil is a licensed Florida Broker. He holds a BA degree from the University of South Florida and completed over fifty additional courses in real estate, construction, business management, finance and communication. He received the following professional designations:
- CPM-Certified Property Manager, Institute of Real Estate Management
- CRA-Certified Review Appraiser, Nat’l Assoc. of Review Appraisers and Mortgage Underwriters
- MCR-Master, Corporate Real Estate, Nat’l Assoc. of Corporate Real Estate Executives (NACORE)
He served as the President, Washington-Baltimore Chapter of NACORE twice and also as an instructor for the Institute for Corporate Real Estate and Johns Hopkins University Graduate Real Estate Program.
